Background

I first discovered contemporary dance at age 13 when I was a member of Scottish Dance Theatre’s Youth Dance Company in Dundee. In 2014 I spent one year at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance and then decided to make the move down to London to complete my BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In 2018 I joined EDGE Dance Company, based at The Place in central London, where I had the opportunity to tour internationally to Austria, Finland, Portugal, and also across the UK. With EDGE I had the opportunity to work with choreographers Hagit Yakira, Jorge Crecis and Fabio Liberti. During my training and since finishing the tour with EDGE I’ve had the opportunity to work as a freelance dance artist for companies such as Akademi, Roisin O’Brien, Thomas Page Dances, and Clod Ensemble, as well as continuing to work on my own artistic endeavours independently as a choreographer, performer, and teacher.

Artistic Statement

I endeavour to put care and compassion at the centre of my practice. I am fascinated by improvisation and the connection between music and dance. A sense of humanity, connection and intimacy are things I strive to include in the work I create and love to sense in the work that I see. I strongly believe in using dance to connect with communities and I am touched by how dance can positively enrich people’s lives.
